Thrustor Brakes

We Offer Thrustor Brakes. Backed by rich industry experience, we are presenting vast variety of thruster brakes. these are suitable for suitable for 400 / 440 volts, 3 phase a. C supply for a wide range of drum sizes from 100 mm to 500 mm dia. Higher sizes can be supplied on request. All our products are developed using supreme-grade base / arms , shoes, tie rod / guide rods and springs. Construction: The principal parts of our thruster brakes are tabulated below: base / arms rigid welded construction, with accessible fixings. shoes self-aligning, easily removable high grade cast iron fitted with best quality fabric linings. Designed with a large cooling surface and fitted with stops to prevent rubbing on drum when brake is cleared. tie rod / guide rods of ample section which is securely fixed in a lug. The tie rod transmits the spring force on the shoes by a simple lever system. springs compression springs are vertically mounted through the guide rods and are held securely between guide plates. One or more springs are used depending upon the brake size and thrustor capacity so as to obtain the required braking torque. Operation: The braking pressure to the shoes is transmitted from the springs by means of an extremely rigid and simple lever / tie rod mechanism. Braking is smooth and positive. Release of the brake shoes effected by energizing the 3 phase thrustor which overcomes the spring force and the shoes are moved clear of the drum by the lever / arm linkage system. Maintenance / Setting : The improved design of the leverage system and linkage makes it possible to utilize only a portion ( 70 to 75%), of the thrustor stroke initially 9at the time of commissioning the brake) when the brake lining is new. This enables a reserve of lining wear As the lining wears out thrustor stroke adjusts itself automatically and the wear of the lining has no effect on the braking torque until after this stage that the brake has to be readjusted to the original setting The angle of the brake shoe being 700 makes the replacement and maintenance of the brake shoes easy at site.
